The National Industrial Court (Amendment) Bill (HB. 860) and Court of Appeal Act (Amendment) Bill (HB. 861) went through second reading at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly. The Bills were subsequently referred to the House Committee on Federal Judiciary for further legislative work.
These bills seek to amend the National Industrial Court Act and the Court of Appeal Act to allow appeals from the National Industrial Court to the Court of Appeal as prescribed by an act of the National Assembly and to establish a “Labour Division” of the Court of Appeal to hear appeals from the National Industrial Court.
